Project Objective: to develop bio-sourced carbon fibre for the wind energy market that is 25% cheaper to make than that sourced from polyacrylonitrile.
This bio-sourced carbon fibre, with nanostructured polyolefin, is made from a combination of a lignin precursor and bio-sourced polyethylene and boosted with bio-sourced nano carbonated material (carbon nanotube, graphene, nanocellulose).
